Abstract:
AMPL seeks to provide a simple view of solvers that hides their idiosyncrasies. The
AMPL/solver interface library faciliteates this by providing relevant interfaces
routines and data structures. We review some of these facilites, focusing on recent
and forthcoming additions, such as suffix notation for auxiliary information and
extensions for dealing with constraint programming. Interfaces to global
optimization and constraint programming solvers may require custom "tree walks".
